Omaha, NE – February 2, 2015 – Proxibid, (www.proxibid.com), the world’s most trusted way to connect buyers and sellers of highly valued items, will provide online bidding for Leake Auction Company’s three-day auction event featuring a collection of 40 Corvettes from renowned aficionado and car collector Tom Falbo of Smithers, WV. For decades, Falbo accumulated some of the rarest and most desirable Corvettes ever created, which will be offered without reserve. The three-day event begins on Friday, February 19th, but bidding is already available via Proxibid.
After meticulous inspection and research, Leake Auction Company has confirmed that an incredibly rare 1967 L89 Corvette Convertible is among the vehicles for auction in Falbo’s Collection. The vehicle features a 427 V8, 435 HP aluminum head L89 engine, and is believed to be just one of sixteen L89s made. The discovery was made by Roy Sinor, the most recently retired NCRS National Judging Chairman. Sinor served in the position for seventeen years and was honored with their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Leake Auction Company contracted Roy to inspect all of the Corvettes from the Tom Falbo Collection.
“As one of the rarest Corvettes ever produced, this was an incredible discovery,” stated Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company. “We have been scrutinizing all of the Corvettes from the Falbo Collection for over a month now, verifying the authenticity of each one. Obviously we were thrilled to discover this L89 coded engine.”
In addition to the 40 Corvettes, 75 other vehicles will also be offered without reserve. Featured vehicles up for bid include:
