Across the past several months, Proxibid’s international sellers have experienced a tremendous growth in online sales, with a substantial increase in online bidders in key auctions. On the backdrop of the UK’s vote to exit the European Union, buyers from around the world have flocked to UK sellers on Proxibid to purchase at an unprecedented exchange rate. In addition, new product features and marketing efforts have rapidly grown the base of buyers and sellers from around the world transacting in the Proxibid Marketplace.
One international event that garnered attention from buyers around the world was the Silverstone Auctions’ October Porsche Sale. The event delivered record online sales, with 31 percent of inventory selling to online buyers hailing from the U.S., UK, and mainland Europe. One highlight was a 1973 Porsche 911 S 2.4 Coupe sold to an online buyer for £178k (before commission).

In the next several days, more international events will cross through the Proxibid Marketplace, including a sporting memorabilia sale from Graham Budd Auctions in the UK, an antique doll and collectible sale from Abbingdon Auctions Australia, and the highly anticipated Silverstone Auctions NEC Classic Motor Show sale in the UK, which will feature a collection of 12 royal and celebrity cars.
