Partnership Support – A Day-in-the-Life of Emilie Wells

Proxibid is partnered with several industry leaders to provide exposure and reach for our sellers’ inventory and additional services for our buyers. With so many partnerships to manage, each with disparate needs, Proxibid has added a new role to ensure all partnerships get the attention they deserve.

In June 2016, Emilie Wells, former Director of Marketing, accepted a new position as Proxibid’s Director of Strategic Partnerships. Emilie’s job is to support the needs of Proxibid’s partnerships with industry-leading companies and maximize the potential of the partnerships for both organizations.

Here’s a day-in-the-life of our Director of Strategic Partnerships, Emilie Wells:

9:00 a.m. – grab a cup of coffee. Starting the day off with a little caffeine.

9:10 a.m. – meet with Proxibid’s Senior Vice President of Operations and Strategy, Jaqueline Glassman, on the direction of Proxibid’s Buy Now and Make Offer product suite. Emilie is directly involved with driving strategy for our traditional ecommerce business, which is used by almost every strategic partner.

10:00 a.m. – develop a marketing plan for the Hemmings partnership. Emilie works closely with Jessica Polmanteer, Director of Marketing, to develop a media strategy to promote the Hemmings Motor News partnership, including third-party co-op advertising, search engine marketing, and social media. Proxibid is partnered with Hemmings, where HemmingsPRO dealers can transact on both Proxibid.com and Hemmings – all powered by Proxibid’s best-in-class ecommerce solutions and risk management system.

11:00 a.m. – conference call with Hemmings. Emilie meets regularly with her Hemmings counterparts to ensure all parties are on the same page for Marketing, Product updates, and more.

1:00 p.m. – meet with Creative Director, Ryan Sorensen, to create page mockups for a new partnership in the works. Before this partnership goes live and is announced to the public, Emilie and Ryan will create preliminary designs to illustrate how the inventory could look and feel on the new partner’s website.

2:00 p.m. – jam out while answering emails. FourFiveSeconds by Rihanna is a go-to song.

2:15 p.m. – attend a meeting with Product Management. Taking her notes from earlier meetings with Jacqueline Glassman and Ryan Sorensen, she meets with the Product Management team to give feedback on the business’s strategic priorities for developing new features.

3:00 p.m. – collaborate with Dana Kaufman, Communications Director, to write a new piece of collateral to support the various partnerships. Proxibid frequently attends tradeshows with our partner companies, and joint marketing materials with Proxibid’s partners are helpful to hand out to prospective clients.

4:00 p.m. – stop by Roar @ 4. Proxibid’s weekly happy hour is the time for employees to step away from their desks for a few minutes and socialize across departments.

4:55 p.m. – log into Jira, Proxibid’s task management system. Emilie will attach a copy of the collateral she and Dana created in their earlier meeting and assign it to one of Proxibid’s production designers.
